Vini's Nordic show tour

Vini has been travelling and attending shows in Denmark and Norway. The highlight in advance was World Winner Dog Show in Herning, Denmark on the 25th of June, 2010. A dog show is the best way to spend midsummer eve :)

The World Winner Show was a lovely opportunity to meet scottie friends around Europe. There were 127 scotties enrolled and most of them were present. Scottie judge was Lillian Lleton from Denmark. Vini was placed 4th in his class. We were thrilled to be selected among 25 open class males. Vini's daughter Quaint Nuez Moscado won her class (intermediate bitch). BOB and BIG1 was Valentina Popova's male Filisite Brash Celebration and BOS Ayrzol Ozone. All results can be found on DKK:s web site: http://www.hundeweb.dk/dkk/public/openIndex?ARTICLE_ID=99.

On the second day it was a circuit show in Hedensted, about 80 kilometres from Herning. It was a large open air field with spacious rings. At that show there were two judges, Laurel Donohue from Australia for males and Cindy Pettersson from Sweden for females. Vini got excellent but was not placed in his class (open males). BOB was selected by Cindy Pettersson and she chose Ayrzol Ozone to BOB and to BOS Filisite Brash Celebration.

The second circuit day was also in Hedensted. Vini and I very much welcomed the judges of the day: Liz Bradley and Laurie Herd from the UK. Since Vini is bred by Liz and Laurie, we expected to have a relaxed day on the ring side looking at the scotties. That was not the case. One of the ring stewards was unable to come and I stepped in. It was my first experience as ring steward in Denmark but not so much different from what I have experienced in Finland. The major difference was that critiques were written with a typewriter and not manually. That should be possible in Finland too, because it makes reading critiques much easier for exhibitors. I was very pleased to have this opportunity to follow Liz's work while judging scottie males. She chose as her best male Tamzin Mr Prospector from intemediate class and later the same male became BOB. Laurie's choice for the best female was Ayrzol Ozone and it was chosen later as BOS. Vini and I were pleased when Vini's daughter Quaint Nuez Moscado was places as 3rd best female with CAC.

From Denmark we continued to Norway. In Trondheim we attended two shows: Internasjonal utstilling Trondheim 3.-4.7.2010 and Norsk Terrier Klub avd. Trondelag show on the 4th of July 2010. Vini was BOB on both days and became Norwegian champion at the international show. The judge was Ann Rode from Sweden and we were pleased to read the commending critique. At the terrier club show Vini was not only BOB but was places as BIS4 by breed and bis judge Bengt Nilsson. That was a very pleasant ending for our show tour.
